Hello Brian,

I have a 7-year-old son in the 2nd grade that is a Special Needs student in a NJ public school.  He comes home with bruises constantly and he is afraid to go to the bathroom at school.   When I ask my son about the bruises, he says that it was an accident from his friend and he won’t tell what happened.  I told him that ‘friends don’t hurt friends’.  I spoke to his teacher, but she is a new replacement teacher since his original teacher left on maternity leave and she doesn’t acknowledge any bullying problem in the classroom.  My son has tummy pains every morning and doesn’t want to go to school anymore.  He said that he wants to end his life at 7!

Can you help me?  What should I do when the teacher ignores the problem?

Thanks,

N.J. Mom
